An opportunity for a fast learning, candidate and customer obsessed individual with a can-do attitude to join a busy and fast paced recruitment team within the Octopus Group to work on a project supporting one of our brands (Octopus Ventures) with a high volume of recruitment. This role will be at the front line of candidate sourcing and candidate experience responsible for a 360 recruitment process with a heavy focus on sourcing high calibre talent.


Success for this role will require you to hit the ground running and applying a candidate and customer centric, delivery orientated approach to ensuring our roles are filled quickly and with ease with the best most diverse talent in the market. It will require someone who takes pride in providing an optimal candidate and customer experience; who is proactive and highly responsive.


Key accountabilities of the role are:


This role will work closely with the business unit and wider recruitment and HR team and will include but not be limited to:


  • Full 360 ownership of the recruitment process from sourcing to contracts.
  • Briefings with managers and teams to make sure you are getting that fit just right!
  • Being an ambassador for candidate experience and ensuring we always have this at the forefront of our mind.
  • Using a variety of tools (LinkedIn, job boards, social media, networking) to help your source direct and low cost top talent into Octopus.
  • Posting roles on career websites, press publications, searching CV databases and reviewing CVs against requirements to create a shortlist.
  • Facilitating assessment centres.
  • Spending lots of time on LinkedIn, involving yourself in relevant groups, seeking out high calibre people for us to engage with, publishing roles and at times even interesting and relevant content.
  • Managing agency relationships.
  • Phone screen/skype/video interview candidates to ensure cultural fit through competency-based interviews, and administering psychometric/additional selection testing where required.
  • Following up on and building relationships with individuals our amazing team refer to us.
  • Building talent pools for us to ensure we are always a step ahead of our recruitment needs.
  • Arranging ad hoc interviews. It is a small yet very busy team so be prepared to get stuck in and roll your sleeves up!
  • Ensuring the Applicant Tracking System is up to date and accurate.




To be successful you will need to demonstrate that you …


  • Have proven end to end recruitment lifecycle experience within an agency or in-house
  • Experience of digital/social media sourcing tools and techniques
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills; ability to handle high volumes of multiple tasks and priorities and remain calm under pressure
  • Strong administration skills with previous diary management experience, MS outlook and excel experience
  • Ability to understand role requirements and match CVs and candidates accordingly
  • Calm, professional and engaging phone manner with an ability to explain a variety of roles, ‘sell’ Octopus and champion the group and our culture and values
  • Possess the confidence and empathy required to pass feedback to candidates (positive and developmental!)
  • Displays integrity – sincere in own behaviour and in dealings with others
  • Self-motivated and self-aware – recognises own strengths and weaknesses and is committed to personal development
  • Results-focused – understands what is important to staff, clients and management – is committed to achieving goals and accountable for their work. Tenacious approach to delivery, quality of output and organisation
