    The purpose of the role is to support our team of Internal and External Business Development Managers by allowing them to be as active and productive as possible.  The Sales Support role takes away the pre and post meeting work from the business Development Managers, giving them optimum face to face time with intermediaries. 


    Other key functions include: providing reliable and useable MI, identifying and qualifying leads, and uncovering/maximising opportunities from all Intermediary contact.


    Essential job functions

    • Provide support for the BDM Team to allow them to focus on sales.
    • Record Intermediary meeting notes onto the in-house CRM system (Novus) including feedback on our proposition and allocation of follow up tasks.
    • Complete meeting follow up with Intermediaries for External BDMs including the sending out of literature.
    • Produce client illustrations within agreed timescales.
    • Assist the Events Co-ordinator in the organisation of seminars.   Assist BDMs in following up with Intermediaries.
    • Provide regular MI to drive activity and business in each geographical region.
    • Ensure regular catch up meetings with BDM team to monitor focus, strategy and responsibility and to ensure completion of actions.
    • Handle overflow inbound calls.
    • Complete due diligence information requests within agreed timescales.
    • Answer all email enquiries from Intermediaries as directed by BDMs.
    • Monitor and deal with Intermediary requests into the Sales Support inbox.
    • Demonstrate a strong understanding of core and non-core products.
    • Collate Key messages and distribute action points from monthly BDM meeting.
    • First point of contact for all bonus queries.



    Competency requirements


    • Experience in a support or administrative role within financial services is a must
    • Must have a background improving processes
    • Better & Better: Consistently generate ideas and exchange best practice to help improve the overall efficiency of the BDM Team.
    • Focus on Impact: Deliver on business objectives to create a seamless service in partnership with the BDMs to the Intermediary.  Work with the BDMs to help them achieve their goals and targets.
    • Trust:  Pro-actively build relationships with colleagues and communicate effectively.  Deliver a consistent and reliable support service to the RM Team. 
    • Service: Embed efficient working practices and communicate internally and externally in a professional manner.
    • Quality: Ensure accuracy and adherence to timescales in all tasks.
    • Integrity: Champion the reputation of the Sales Support Team to ensure that they are a well respected and stand-out team within the organisation.
    • Delivery: Take responsibility for commitments and performance.  Strive to exceed the expectations of others.  Assist others to deliver their desired results and service levels.


    Other job specific experience/technical skills/abilities

    • Flexibility is essential in terms of the need to complete a variety of tasks and meet the different needs of the BDMs.
    • Well organised, and be able demonstrate the ability to multi-task & pay attention to detail.
    • Outgoing, proactive with a friendly manner.
    • Prior experience of dealing with customers on the telephone.
