This role will lead Octopus’ Investments media and broader corporate communications strategy. The role will report into Octopus Group’s Head of Corporate Communications and sit as part of the Group communications team. Octopus Group is the umbrella brand that sits above all the Octopus businesses to ensure finance, HR, marketing and IT are being managed consistently. Working closely with Octopus Investments’ marketing team, the person in this role will be responsible for building and protecting the business’ brand, providing strategic counsel and support across the business and demonstrating how PR can add value and drive business outcomes. They will also be responsible for delivering excellent press office services to journalists and our internal stakeholders. They will need to enjoy working in a fast paced environment, multi-tasking, working autonomously as well as enjoying being a team player. They need to be confident and comfortable managing crisis communications and presenting to senior management.
Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills are essential. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate their ability to prioritise, project manage campaigns and work to tight deadlines. You will be responsible for identifying any reputational risks to the business early on to ensure messaging is managed effectively across all communication channels.
You will need to be able to hit the ground running supported by a strong press contact book of personal finance, investor and adviser trade journalists. The person in this role needs to love thinking creatively about how to make the business relevant to its target press, as well as maintaining our share of voice in our market leading product areas.
