The successful candidate will perform the role of Treasury Accounts Assistant. This role will have responsibility over ensuring effective management of cash resources including foreign currency, credit control and reconciliations. The right individual will have excellent time and stakeholder management skills, pay great attention to detail and be able to apply these skills in a dynamic working environment.


  • Cash management - prepare payments and associated cash journals in accordance with the relevant client money rules in the FCA handbook (e.g. payments procedures, bank reconciliations).
  • Balance sheet reconciliations - take ownership of the credit control of the Specialist Finance businesses and perform bank account reconciliations on a regular basis.
  • Monitor and manage cash deposit requirements to maximise interest returns.
  • Dealing with bank account queries -  be the first point of contact in the banking relationship and internally taking ownership of requests and issues, creating stakeholder goodwill by providing appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
  • Weekly portfolio reporting on cash flow and treasury positions for senior management.
  • Foreign exchange monitoring and supplier analysis to ensure the investee companies get the best rate from our service provider.
  • Support projects that are aimed at improving processes and controls.

  • Ability to work within a team environment to ensure service level agreements (SLA's) are met.
  • Demonstrate a collegiate attitude to others, helping out beyond the point of personal return and responding to requests for assistance in an efficient, timely and helpful manner.
  • Prioritise projects and use all Octopus resources effectively to deliver on Octopus's goals, including taking on board feedback to actively revisit plans and deliverables.
  • Demonstrates high standards of ethical behaviour across the company.



  • Cash management experience involving administering multiple bank accounts in different currencies.
  • FX settlements and reconciliation experience.
  • Demonstrable track record of improving processes and controls.
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management.
  • Knowledge of SUN/Vision is an advantage but not a pre-requisite.



  • Works in an open and honest way and engages in giving and receiving feedback with colleagues
