Octopus Healthcare was formed in 2014 by the acquisition of MedicX Holdings Ltd by Octopus Investments and is a leading healthcare property investor / developer in the UK. Our investment portfolio of around 200 properties includes the MedicX Fund, listed on the London Stock Exchange (LON:MXF) and two limited partnerships (MedicX Healthfund I & II). We invest both through direct property development / investment, and also through joint ventures and equity investments with healthcare operators.

Octopus Healthcare is looking for two Property Managers to join its Primary Healthcare property team reporting directly into the Head of Asset and Property Management. The team, which currently totals 5 people (excluding the accounts team) manages a £650+ portfolio of 157 Primary Care assets (the Medicx Fund) comprising c350 leases across the UK, including the Republic of Ireland.
It invests either by acquiring existing assets or forward funding them, typically in joint ventures with specialist developers including Octopus Healthcare’s own development team. Properties are typically let to GP Practices and Pharmacies on long leases (21 years plus) with reviews to market rent, index-linked or fixed annual uplifts. Octopus Healthcare is planning to grow this fund by £350m by 2020, i.e. £1bn in total.
To support the current workload and as a result of the planned expansion, Octopus Healthcare is seeking two dedicated Property Managers to join the team. The successful candidates will have responsibility for typical property management functions across part of the portfolio of single and multi-tenanted properties let on a mix of FRI, effective FRI (subject to service charge) and the NHS specific TIR terms (Tenant Internal Repair). In addition, the successful candidate must be able to assist the team in developing robust systems and drive the implementation of new ideas to realise the funds ambitions for managed growth.
