About Octopus Healthcare

Octopus Healthcare was formed in 2014 by the acquisition of MedicX Holdings Ltd by Octopus Investments and is a leading healthcare property investor / developer in the UK.  With a ten year track record, approximately £1bn of assets under management and a team of approximately 40, we are active across the whole spectrum of UK healthcare property.  This includes primary healthcare, care homes, retirement property, private hospitals and special needs schools. 

 

Our investment portfolio of around 200 properties includes the MedicX Fund, listed on the London Stock Exchange (LON:MXF), two limited partnerships (MedicX Healthfund I & II). Responsibilities

  • Source new investment opportunities from agents, developers, framework partners, planning applications etc
  • Preparation and presentation of Investment Memorandum to internal and external boards with recommendations
  • Manage legal process to completion
  • Managing existing framework development partners on new forward funding opportunities
  • Work closely with business development team
  • Work with finance team to ensure acquisitions structured correctly for tax and VAT
  • Ensure new investments are handed over to asset and property management team properly
  • Regular reporting of progress of schemes during construction

Qualifications

  • Personality and approach is key. We are seeking someone who is genuinely driven, personable and capable of bringing initiative, focus and flair to a wide variety of situations.  Also, someone who identifies strongly with the Octopus values below.
  • The ability to combine administrative efficiency and the technical aspects of property asset management with the development of relationships with operators and the identification of business opportunities with them.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Probably a Chartered Surveyor with solid experience.
  • Healthcare property experience helpful, but by no means required.
